After a delayed flight, we arrived at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco Union Square well after midnight. Despite the late hour, we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who immediately made a good first impression.

Booking
We stayed in a high-floor king room, and with cash rates being reasonable, we decided to pay cash rather than use World of Hyatt points.
The Room
The room was really well put together and clearly well maintained. It was spotless, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered exceptional views of San Francisco.
Location
The location in Union Square was convenient with easy access to shopping and the rest of the city.
Service
The real standout here was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind and went above and beyond throughout the stay. Whatever the Grand Hyatt is doing when it comes to its people, it's working.
The Destination Fee
The biggest downside is the $40 nightly destination fee, which definitely takes some of the shine off an otherwise great-value stay. It's also worth noting that the Grand Club was closed during our visit, which is something to keep in mind if you have access through World of Hyatt status.
Final Thoughts
Still, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. A well-maintained room, great views, and friendly hotel staff make the Grand Hyatt San Francisco Union Square an easy recommendation.
