AAdvantage miles now book Oman Air flights — 70K to Muscat, 40K to Southeast Asia, 30K to India. Earning was already live. Here's the full breakdown.

A year after Oman Air joined oneworld, AAdvantage redemptions on the carrier are now live as of July 30. The partner award rates are solid: 70K miles from the US to Muscat in business class, 40K within Asia, and more. Here's what's now bookable and what your Oman Air ticket earns going the other direction.

Oman Air joined the oneworld alliance in June 2025. American AAdvantage members have been unable to book the carrier using their miles until now. As of July 30, 2026, Oman Air redemptions are live on aa.com.

These partner award rates are quite solid, and Oman Air provides another option in a world where airlines like Qatar and Etihad are increasingly reducing partner award access.

    Who Is Oman Air

Oman Air is the flag carrier of Oman, based in Muscat (MCT). It operates under 50 aircraft, mainly a mix of Boeing 787s and 737s. It's not a mega-carrier.

A majority of the 787 fleet features Apex Suites in a 2-2-2 configuration, although some newer aircraft are equipped with the Oman Business Studio product.

Oman Air Business Class Award Rates

Here's an example of what's now bookable using AAdvantage miles on Oman Air-operated flights:

    Route Cabin AAdvantage Miles
US to Muscat (including Middle East destinations via Muscat) Business 70,000
    Europe to Muscat Business 42,500
Muscat to Southeast Asia (Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore, Manila) Business 40,000
    Muscat to India Business 30,000

Here's a close up of rates from London to Muscat — including first class:

As you can imagine, economy or mixed awards with premium economy included are even cheaper. Here's an example from the US to Muscat:

It's worth noting that Oman Air doesn't fly nonstop to the US, so any US–Muscat itinerary will connect through a oneworld partner. That means one of these Oman Air redemptions can be built into a longer itinerary that hits Europe or the Middle East on the way to your final destination, all on the same award ticket.

    Earning Miles on Oman Air

Redemptions are the news of the day, but Oman Air has actually been earning-eligible for AAdvantage members for over a year, since June 30, 2025.

Ticket price-based earning applies (base fare plus carrier-imposed fees, excluding government taxes). Your AAdvantage status determines the earning multiplier, and Loyalty Points accumulate toward status maintenance and elite qualification.

Not sure what a specific Oman Air ticket earns? Run it through the MilesMate AA Loyalty Points calculator. Plug in the fare, your status level, and the calculator returns exact miles and Loyalty Points for the booking. It's useful for anyone weighing whether an Oman Air fare is worth chasing from an earning perspective.

    What To Do Now

Award availability on new partner integrations tends to be best in the first few months, before broader awareness and demand catch up. If Oman Air is on your radar for the Middle East, India, or Southeast Asia travel, this is the time to search.

Awards are bookable directly on aa.com. For flights already booked with cash, the earning has been live for over a year. Make sure your AAdvantage number is on the ticket before you fly and run the numbers through the calculator to see what you're earning back.
